About ME
My full name is Chia Jing Heng. First name: Jing Heng, last name: Chia.
Malaysian Chinese like me have our names written with the last name-first name convention, rather than the more popular first name-last name convention. You can call me Andreus if you like. It is sort of like a nickname, or more precisely a pseudoname that I use online.
I am currently a software developer working at Sunway Money in Malaysia. I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters in Engineering in 2021. I specialised in Information and Computer Engineering, and I have a huge interest in software development and machine learning.
I love watching films. Roger Ebert once wrote:
Movies are, among other things, opportunities for escapism.
Indeed, movies allow me to momentarily experience another life, be it that of an astronaut wandering in space, or that of a superhero burgeoned with the responsibility to save the world, or that of a taxi driver meandering through the mean streets of New York, or even that of a lion cub wanting to be king. Movies are, in a word, magical. I love how movies are able to move hearts and souls, to connect individuals from different backgrounds, and to shape cultures and societies.
Therefore, consider this blog as a love letter to my passions. Here is a collection of my random thoughts, a documentation of my learnings, and a way for me to express my mind despite my lackluster writing ability.
